THE SUM OF US
An award-winning Australian play. Set in the early 1900s and laugh-out-loud funny, The Sum of Us is also a bittersweet, intensely poignant story about family, loneliness, hope and acceptance.
Harry and his gay adult son Jeff still live in the house Jeff grew up in. Their wife and mother died tragically when Jeff was a child. Harry takes an overt, friendly and often hilarious interest in Jeff's ongoing search for Mister Right. This causes complications when Jeff invites gentle Greg home, because it's very different to what Greg experiences from his own father.
Harry's attempt at a new relationship with divorcee Joyce has unforeseen issues too, yet the bond between father and son, fraught as it is at times, endures through harder times to come.
