BRIDGING CULTURES - Music & Dance Cultural Fusion

Enjoy an evening of music and dance where traditional practice informs contemporary culture with exciting new artistic collaborations. Selected artists have performed across Australia and internationally. Shamisen performer Noriko Tadano collaborates with Didgeridoo player Allen Edwards Senior, fusing Japanese culture with rich indigenous heritage. Noriko is an awardwinning, virtuoso master of the Japanese shamisen (a 3-string, banjo-like instrument) and a traditional Japanese vocalist. Her performance has been described as virtuosic shamisen rock/pop. Casa de Flamenco and Southern Cross Tango have teamed up to create a unique performance for this evening, blending authentic Argentine Tango with the rhythm and passion of Flamenco. Experience dynamic Flamenco dance, guitar and percussion with the mesmerising and romantic movements of Tango.
